The 2006 TRI - STATE BATTLE OF THE BANDS!!!

15 Bands Competing for $2500.00

Come Support Live Music at Sidelines

RULES:

  1. All entry packets must be received by Aug. 24th, 2006 . 15 groups will be selected by a listening group of judges, sponsors and other associates to play on August 27th as part of the live competiton. The selected group will be notified by telephone for confirmation.
  2. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Entry packets must be accompanied by a band bio, photo and an audio (cd or cassette) of at least one of your three songs to be performed. Video of a performace is highly encouraged.
  3. f your group is elected to compete in the Battle of the Bands, you must be available to perform on August 27th between the hours of 2 pm and Midnight.
  4. Battle of the Bands is open to amateurs only. For the purpose of this contest, an amateur is somebody without a major-label recording contract.
  5. Entries must be completed in English, but the band may perform their songs in any language.
  6. Sidelines is not responsible for any damage or theft of your musical equipment during or after the Battle of the Bands. Please watch it closely.
  7. Their will be Heats in groups of 3 with each band having 15 min. to show the judges they deserve to be in the finals. We will only pick 1 band out of the 3 to move onto the finals. After the Heat's we will move to the finals with our 5 winning bands where each band will play for a min. of 3 songs and a max. of 20 minutes. Points may be deducted by the judges if you exceed the time limit
  8. Bands must play a min. of 2 original songs written by the band in the heats and the finals.
  9. Bands, whose fans attempt to disrupt the competition to help their band win, may end up causing their band to be disqualifed.
  10. Bands who are in any doubt as to whether they will be able to play in their allocated slot in the heat or the finals should let Sidelines know as soon as it is apparent that there may be a problem with their performance on the night. This will not prevent you playing in the slot chosen for you, if you are still able to. However, it will enable us to have another competing band ready to take the potentially vacant slot at the last minute if you end up not being able to play. This would avoid a band missing their chance of playing as a replacement.

EQUIPMENT:

All bands need to provide all of their own amps, and instuments except for drums. We are suppling all sound, lights as well as a drum kit. This is a very nice drum set sponsored by our freinds at THURMAN MUSIC here in ft. madison. Although you will be allowed to bring your own pedals. We will not be furnishing sticks, picks, or any other equipment like that. You will need everything ready 15 minutes before you are to be on stage, so there is a min. delay between the competion. All you should have to do is throw your amps into place, do some small adjustments to the equipment, and play the best you can. You can visit Thurman music at http://www.thurmanmusic.com/
